Uniquely North Shore
As autumn settles in, the deciduous trees along Victoria Avenue in Chatswood begin their quiet transformation. Leaves shift from green to gold, then fall away entirely, leaving bare branches that invite the winter sun back in. It’s a small seasonal ritual — one that reminds you this part of Sydney has its own character, its own pace.
The North Shore is special in ways that are hard to define but easy to feel. It’s in the streets, the cafés, the conversations. That sense of community is exactly why I created Hold The News — a space where local writers and businesses can come together and share something real.
Hold The News is built around three simple groups: readers, writers, and sponsors.
Readers
You don’t need an account to read — just open and enjoy. But if you choose to sign up, you can tailor your daily column to suit your interests. We don’t collect or trade personal data. An account exists purely to improve your experience.
Writers
Anyone can register and draft an article. Before publication, we do a quick check — not to control opinions, but to ensure contributions come from real people and aren’t spam or scams. That’s it.
Writers are rewarded directly from sponsor revenue. The platform retains only 40% to cover costs — the rest goes back to those creating the content.
Sponsors
If you have something to promote, you’re welcome here. There are no fixed prices — campaigns can start from as little as $10.
Sponsors create a simple ad — headline, image, text, and optional link — then choose a day to run it. A 14-day calendar shows current bids, and positions are allocated transparently. Bidding closes at noon the day before publication.
It’s straightforward, open, and designed to work for everyone involved.
At its core, Hold The News is about balance — giving writers a voice, readers a clean experience, and sponsors clear value.
All of you — readers, writers, and sponsors — are what make Hold The News worth holding.
